A starter drive includes a pinion gear set that meshes with the flywheel ring gear on the engine’s crankshaft.To prevent damage to the pinion gear or the ring gear, the pinion gear must mesh with the ring gear before the starter motor rotates. To help assure smooth engagement, the end of the pinion gear is tapered. Also, the action of the armature must always be from the motor to the engine.

Tripod Joint is used at the inboard end of car driveshafts, it enables power transmission even in case of angle shifting. Tripod Joint has needle bearing / barrel-shaped rollers mounted on a three-legged spider / three-pointed yoke, instead of balls bearings. These fit into a cup with three matching grooves, attached to the differential. The rollers are mounted at 120-degrees to one another and slide back and forth in tracks in an outer tulip housing.

This three-legged spider with tripod has only limited operating angles, but is able to plunge in and out with a longer distance as the suspension moves. A typical Tripod joint has up to 50 mm of plunge travel, and 26 degrees of angular articulation.

The Quality and Performance of an electric fuel pump is determined by the precision of which the components are engineered and fabricated. All TEMCO electric fuel pumps are engineered and manufactured for performance to meet or exceed factory O.E. pump flow and pressure specifications. Most of the TEMCO pump models are designed using a proprietary balanced lightweight zytel nylon turbine design impeller and an encased precision balanced armature that significantly reduces the amount of movable parts to provide near silent operation, efficient pumping characteristics, and longer pump life. Turbine fuel pumps provide stable fuel flow, better performance under severe operating conditions, and operate at lower AMP ratings when compared to traditional rollervane or gerotor pumps.

All TEMCO quality fuel pumps are engineered and designed with precision components.
